Our Story

Our story started long before the first time we laid eyes on one another, or the day we were officially introduced to one another. Our story began the day the Lord fearfully and wonderfully started knitting us together in our mothers’ wombs, knowing his exact purpose for us individually, and that we would one day form a divine union before Him, for His greater purpose, to bring our Heavenly Father honor and praise together.

The Lord is our Rock, our refuge, our Redeemer and the steadfast foundation on which we build this beautiful union of marriage. Without Him, our story would have had a much different outcome, and it is for this reason that we give Him all the glory as we continue to give you all a summary of rest of our story.

We met on the 13th of February 2020 on med campus. Later that day, completely unaware that it would lead to the most beautiful friendship (and much more later on…), Dominic replied to my Instagram story on how interesting occupational therapy classes are. Since then, we have never stopped talking … literally never. Texting soon led to 3-hour-long coffee dates at Seattle (although we are the typical Slow Town people usually),

this then led to jogs at Avis, where we discovered that we both have a true appreciation for nature and spending time outdoors. During our 3 years of courtship, we’ve had to overcome quite a few obstacles, but the Lord has been so faithful throughout every season, and we can confidently say that those times produced perseverance within us, built our characters’, and gave us hope for a future together, no matter what comes our way. One of the main turning points was our hike at Düsternbrook, where Dom asked me on our first official date over a picnic at a lake with all my favorite snacks. That’s when I realized, “he’s a keeper”.

After countless conversations, laughs, tickles, and prayers, on the 25th of September, Dominic FINALLY decided to pop the question next to the Kavango River at Ngepi Lodge, a place very dear to him and his family, with a ring and ring box he made himself. This was the most special moment in my entire life, thus far!!! We can joyfully confirm “I have found the one whom my soul loves” Song of Solomon 3:4
